The Government has announced that it will look again at the criteria for the mobility component of Personal Independence Payment (PIP).

Therefore, as part of the The Disability Benefits Consortium, NRAS are writing to David Cameron and Nick Clegg to raise our concerns at the changes, including the introduction of the 20 metre qualifying distance for the enhanced rate of the benefit. We believe this could cause large numbers of people to miss out on fundamental support.

In case you missed it on the front page of the website:
http://www.nras.org.uk/c...gg_on_pip_20m_rule.aspx

Also there is the fourth review of the ESA Work Capability Assessment :

https://www.gov.uk/gover...pability-assessment-wca

CAB are at the moment collecting evidence of cases where the client has been refused a report from their GP or where the GP has charged for such a report .
Medical Evidence is vital to avoid being put in the wrong group of br found fit for work.

Please take action on both .

Thanks Rich for bringing this to everyone's attention.

It's really important that we all sign the Disability Benefits Consortium letter to David Cameron. Changing the criteria for the mobility component for PIP will affect so many people, myself included. I urge everyone to sign their name to the letter and ask to friends too, the NRAS need as many signatures as possible.

In case people miss this on the front page of the website there is a survey to complete to help reinstate the 50m rule for PIP. It only takes 5 minutes to complete. NRAS need as many people as possible to complete the survey to help their case to have the 50metre rule reinstated. See the homepage for the link. Survey closes 4 August.
